An exciting development relating to ROSY – Respite nursing for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters

Over the past 21 years, an evolving team of amazing volunteers have tirelessly supported ROSY, delivering management, nursing liaison and fundraising. This has massively increased Oxfordshire’s respite care provision to chronically and terminally ill children and their families.

ROSY has always been under the umbrella of the Oxford Health Charity (OHC), who take care of operations with the NHS, as well as the necessary financial and regulatory aspects for us. The OHC are a professional organisation, with dedicated and experienced staff.

During the past 12 months, the ROSY committee has been looking very carefully at how ROSY continues to thrive in challenging economic times, and with the reduced bandwidth of our volunteers.

We are therefore delighted to share that with effect from 1st October 2023 the OHC have agreed to take on all aspects of the ROSY organisation, dedicating a professional member of their team to ensuring ROSY’s continued success. The money raised for and donated to ROSY will continue to be ring fenced to ensure that the funds are spent on the respite services we support.

You will still be able to contact us at help@rosy.org.uk to seek help or offer support and members of the ROSY committee will continue in voluntary support and fundraising roles, helping to ensure ROSY prospers.

We at ROSY are confident that this is not only the best step to ensure ROSY’s future, but that OHC will add a professional consistency and focus that will pave the way for growth.

We would like to thank everybody who has supported ROSY over the past 21 years, and for your continued support going forwards.
