WHEATLEY SINGERS EVENT IN AID OF ROSY – One of ROSY’s Nurses, Trudie Ball, will be singing Haydn and Britten with The Wheatley Singers on Saturday 20th May at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Wheatley. All proceeds will go to ROSY. Do come along, enjoy the music and lend your support. Everyone welcome.
THE VILLAGE PLAYERS of LAUNTON produce a pantomime each year and raise money for charity. Fantastic. This year they performed “Jack and Jill and the Beanstalk” and donated £200 pounds to ROSY. This is not the first time the players have helped us And we really appreciate their support.
HER GRACE THE DUCHESS OF MARLBOROUGH recently sent us a cheque for £500 pounds towards the continuing work of ROSY. Her Grace and all at Blenheim have been great supporters to ROSY over the years and we are thrilled that we are deemed worthy of their continuing support.
THE JFR recently sent us a cheque for £250 to aid our work. Such support is a great help and we would place on record our gratitude to the Trustee for their generosity.
WHEATLEY PARK SCHOOL SIXTH FORM hold a fashion show each year, proceeds in aid of ROSY. This year was a tremendous evening, enjoyed by as large audience. ROSY received a tremendous cheque for £865. A big thank you to all, teachers, staff and above all, the students for making this happen.
THE ALL SAINT’S WOMEN’S GROUP at Chilton, near Didcot, recently held a quiz and Supper Evening in their Village Hall and raised over 1,300 for their chosen charities. OPEN DOORS is a national charity supporting worthy causes in the community. They recently sent a letter to us following our plea for help enclosing a cheque for 2,000 pounds towards our good work. Thank you all at the Open Doors Charity for your amazing support.
The ISIS Lodge have helped us in the past and recently send a further £250 to help us in our work. Thank you to all at the Isis Lodge, your support is much appreciated.
The Manor Country House Hotel recently contacted us to see if they could help us in any way. This was particularly welcome because the Hotel we used for many of our functions, the Oxfordshire Inn, had recently closed. The Secretary has met with the management at the Hotel and we look forward to working with them….
Whilst typing the above report I was reminded of the fantastic work of the ROSY committee behind the scenes, much of which goes unnoticed. One of those members is Dilys Alban-Moore who is our very able Funds Research Officer and spends her time searching for Trusts or Organisations who may be able to help us….
