CAMBRIDGE STUDENTS RAG WEEK
Special Effects is a wonderful charity based in Charlbury who develop sensory equipment for disabled children. We have had the pleasure of working closely with them for some years. Recently they suggested that we applied to the Cambridge Rag Week Committee for a grant from their Rag Week activities for they did not confine themselves to local organisations. We did just that and received a magnificent grant of £4,000. Thanks to all who helped us secure this wonderful grant. more...

WAITROSE GIFT TO ROSY
Waitrose run a wonderful community project at their stores each month. Charities/good causes are nominated by customers and each month three are chosen. Customers then indicate their support for their chosen charity by placing tokens in a bin under an explanation of the organisations. more...

THE GOLFING THEME CONTINUES

GOLF SUPPORTS ROSY
Ruth Stockford is the ladies captain this year of the Oxford Ladies Golf Club and she nominated ROSY as her chosen charity. To date she and her ladies have raised over £1,000 from varies events at the club, including a wonderful charity day which was attended by Robert Hardy, the Chairman of The Friends of ROSY. We have had Ruth along to some of our events so she could meet with our families and see where the hard earned money was going to. Ruth and her golfing ladies have been a great inspiration to us all at ROSY and we thank them all for their valuable support. more...

ROSY LOSES A GREAT SUPPORTER
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the death of one of our great supporters, Ronald Hapgood, of Headington, Oxford. Our thoughts are with his widow Vera and her family at this sad time. Ronald always took a great interest in the work we do and he and Vera often made donations to us. Supporters to the end, Vera and her family asked that donations in memory of Ronald be made to ROSY. STEEPLE ASTON VILLAGE STORES
For some years now the village store in Steeple Aston has hosted a ROSY collection tin and it continues to be well supported by the shop’s patrons. The shop owners are known to our founder Beverly Wilson who continues to liaise with the shop regarding the collection tin. LIFE WITH THE CHURCHILLS
Mrs Heather White-Smith, the mother of our committee member Ali Wills, gave two very interesting and fascinating talks on her experiences working for Sir Winston and Lady Churchill. Her talks, held in Woodstock and Charlbury, were followed by a book signing by Heather, 20% of the sales going to ROSY. Over £1,300 was raised for ROSY and we are enormously grateful to Heather for giving of her time to help us. A big thank you also to Jenny Atkinson for arranging the events. more...
